Octomore 14.1

The Octomore brand has enjoyed cult status since its launch in 2008. The maturation period is usually 5 years, the barley malt is extremely heavily peated and the bottling takes place with an alcohol content that is in the cask strength range. In the case of Octomore, one also speaks of the "Impossible Equation", i.e. the actually unsolvable equation "highest phenol content + 5 years of aging = great elegance" - a magical mathematics that succeeds miraculously with every Octomore.
With the aim of producing quality instead of quantity, the quartet of 14 also pushes the limits of conventional whiskey production. Whether the origin of the barley, barrel experiments or playing with phenols - at Octomore the focus is on taste, expressiveness and the uniqueness of the individual bottlings. The Octomore 14.1. is as youthful and dynamic as its predecessor. Distilled from 100% Scottish barley with a ppm of 128.9. As the backbone of the series, it can be equated with a tasteful starting point from which the others move in different directions. It impresses with a wonderful balance of smoke, malt, wood and maturity.
The 5-year maturation took place in first-fill American oak casks and brought out the best of the raw materials, such as notes of vanilla, sweet caramel and citrus fruits - wrapped in the typical intensely elegant octomore smoke note with some roasted coffee beans and Spices.
